DEPARTURE

Departure is a feature film set in small-town Ohio, where a woman named Loretta goes missing, leaving her family—husband, daughter, and sister—to grapple with the truth they’ve overlooked. Told in four chapters, the film presents the day of her disappearance through each family member’s perspective, gradually piecing together what happened. I am one of the writer-directors of this project, contributing to both the narrative structure and visual storytelling.

Set in a world where everything is for sale, a Muslim family tries to save for their baby’s arrival while the right-wing, anti-Muslim Freedom Coalition Party campaigns for the election. Adam, the father, grapples with whether to sell his vote to the party. I wrote and directed this short film, exploring themes of political pressure and personal conflict.

ZOR YILLARIN KAYIP ÇOCUKLARI

Zor Yılların Kayıp Çocukları is set against the backdrop of the military coup in Turkey on September 12, 1980, which deeply impacted the nation and its people. The film explores the long-lasting trauma and victimization experienced by individuals and families in the aftermath of the coup, reflecting on how its effects continue to resonate in society today. As the Production Manager, I helped oversee the project's logistics and coordination, contributing to the successful realization of this poignant narrative.
